The Near Extinction of Oliver Hook

Oliver is disappearing.

Oliver is supposed to be in Grade 8, but instead he's becoming invisible. He has been living in a hospital while his mom undergoes cancer treatment, with nobody seeming to know—or care—that he's even there.

After his mom passes away, Oliver is sent to live with his estranged father on a vast, secretive estate. At first, he feels just as invisible there. But he soon discovers that his father, a genetic scientist, has developed a technique for bringing extinct species back to life—including an animal so rare it was once believed to be nothing more than a myth.

Just when Oliver starts to feel at home among the extraordinary creatures and eccentric characters, disaster strikes. Now it's up to him to protect everything that has finally given him a place to belong.
