Surprised by the Man on the Borrowed Donkey

Prof. Denise Ackermann is deeply aware at all times not only of the historical, political, social and economic context of her theology but also of the personal and biographical circumstances and experiences that have shaped her thinking. From this perspective she writes about the questions that her experiences as a woman being diagnosed with cancer, and later with macula degeneration, raise and about her search for answers.
This book is at every point about Jesus. It is about her honest and personal experience and struggle with faith in Jesus. It is her “biography of faith” – faith in “the man on the borrowed donkey” as she calls him.
Her questions result in the ability to look at her life with the eyes of faith to see, above all else, a history of blessings - many blessings.
