The thunder that roars

Yusuf Carrim, a young journalist living in New York, finds his career taking massive strides during the unfolding revolutions in Egypt, Syria and Libya. But on Thanksgiving Day of 2011, he receives an email from his father, multimillionaire Jack Carrim, asking him if he can help locate the family's former gardener, a Zimbabwean called Sam who has been missing for almost six months and might be in Libya.
Yusuf goes in search of Sam, beginning his journey in South Africa, the land of his birth. His search takes him further than he would ever have imagined: he encounters deep divisions in South Africa, untold stories of the Arab Spring and chilling revelations about his own family's past.
